Water Heater Installation & Repair in Ventura, CA
What Is Water Heater Installation & Repair?
Water heater services include installation of new tank or tankless water heaters, repairs to existing units (thermostats, heating elements, pressure relief valves), flushing and maintenance, and full replacements. We work with gas and electric water heaters and all major brands including Rheem, Bradford White, A.O. Smith, and Navien.
Why Ventura Homeowners Need This
Ventura's hard water causes sediment buildup in water heater tanks, dramatically shortening their lifespan and increasing energy costs. Most water heaters last 8–12 years under ideal conditions, but units in the 805 with hard water often fail sooner without regular maintenance. When a water heater fails, same-day service is critical to restore comfort for families.
What Does It Cost in Ventura?
Water heater repair in Ventura typically runs $150–$500 depending on the issue. New tank water heater installation (including the unit) ranges from $800–$1,600. Tankless water heater installation runs $1,500–$3,500+ depending on the unit and existing gas/electrical infrastructure. We provide complete upfront quotes before starting any work.

Water Heater Symptoms and What They Mean
Nobody calls with a diagnosis. They call with a symptom. Here is what the ones we hear most often actually indicate in local homes.
No hot water at all
On a gas unit this is usually the pilot or thermocouple; on electric it is typically a failed heating element or a tripped high-limit switch. Both are repairs rather than replacements in most cases, so do not let anyone sell you a new tank before the unit is diagnosed.
Not enough hot water, or it runs cold fast
Sediment is occupying volume that should hold water, or the dip tube has broken and cold water is mixing at the top of the tank. Hard water makes the first far more common here than it would be elsewhere.
Water heater leaking from the bottom
If it is leaking from the tank itself, the tank has corroded through and no repair will fix it. If it is a fitting, a valve, or the temperature and pressure relief line, that is usually repairable. Shut off the water supply and the gas or breaker, then call.
Noisy water heater: rumbling, popping, or banging
Sediment on the tank floor, with water flashing to steam underneath it. It is the clearest audible sign of hard water damage, and annual flushing is what prevents it.
Rusty or discolored hot water
Either the anode rod is spent or the tank has begun to corrode internally. An anode rod is cheap and replaceable. A corroded tank is on borrowed time.
Pilot light will not stay lit
Most often a failing thermocouple, sometimes a dirty pilot orifice or a venting problem. Repeated relighting is a symptom, not a fix.
If what you are seeing is not on this list, call (805) 881-3025 and describe it. In many cases we can tell you over the phone whether it is urgent or whether it can wait until morning.
